About Terra Nova School

Terra Nova School is a co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged three to thirteen, set near Holmes Chapel in Cheshire. Founded in 1902, the school has a long history, originally welcoming boys as boarders before moving to its current home in 1939. It is run as a charitable trust, overseen by a governing body drawn from a variety of backgrounds. The school is organised across three stages: a pre-school for the under-fives, a junior prep for pupils aged five to eight, and a senior prep for older pupils. Weekly and flexi-boarding from Monday to Friday is available to pupils in Year 3 and above, with the boarding house situated within the main school building. Terra Nova aims to recognise and nurture every pupil's talents, meeting individual learning needs so that each child can fulfil their potential. Most pupils come from within a fifteen-mile radius of the school and from a range of professional backgrounds. The school provides additional specialist support for pupils with special educational needs or disabilities, and ensures that those with high potential are suitably challenged both within and beyond the curriculum.
