About St Margaret's School

St Margaret's School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school, founded in 1749 and set within 70 acres of parkland in Bushey. The school is a registered charity governed by a board of trustees, and welcomes pupils from nursery age through to sixth form. Boarding is available in a single boarding house for pupils from the age of 11. The school became fully co-educational in September 2022, though the majority of pupils are currently female. Its aim is to provide a rich, holistic education in which pupils are both stretched and supported, with a focus on developing a sense of leadership and service. The school community is wonderfully diverse, with pupils coming from 28 different nationalities and a range of professional and business backgrounds. Most families live within 15 miles of the school. St Margaret's is committed to supporting all its pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as more able.
