About St Hilda's School
St Hilda's School is an independent preparatory school welcoming pupils aged 3 to 11 years. Founded in 1891, the school has been in the care of the same family since 1950 and is now governed by a small board of directors. The nursery is co-educational, whilst the remaining year groups are for girls. The school is organised into an Early Years Foundation Stage for children aged 3 to 4, and a junior school for pupils aged 5 to 11. The school is guided by Christian values and works in close partnership with parents to provide a happy and secure environment. It aims to help every pupil reach their potential whilst nurturing confidence, independence, and a sense of responsibility. Pupils also benefit from a broad range of extra-curricular activities, and recent improvements to the grounds have allowed outdoor education to grow as part of school life. Pupils come from a variety of backgrounds and largely live within 15 miles of the school. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, with specialist staff on hand to ensure every child is well supported.
