About Sherfield School

GEMS Sherfield is a co-educational school welcoming pupils from three months to eighteen years of age. The school is organised into four sections: Sherfield Nursery for children from three months to three years; the pre-prep covering pre-Reception to Year 2; the prep for Years 3 to 8; and the senior school for Years 9 to 13, which includes a sixth form offering A levels. Boarding is available from Year 5 onwards. The school is part of Global Educational Management Systems (GEMS), which oversees a number of schools across Europe and the United Kingdom. The school aims to prepare pupils for life and the challenges of the modern world by helping them realise their potential and develop their individual gifts and character. It encourages pupils to become reflective, engaged and dynamic individuals who can work both independently and collaboratively, showing initiative and respect for equality and diversity. Fostering personal development, a positive self-image and confidence are all important priorities, alongside the GEMS core values of innovation, excellence, learning and global citizenship. The school welcomes pupils from a range of backgrounds, and its community reflects a rich mix of cultures and nationalities. It offers support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as for those identified as more able or as having particular talents in areas such as sport, music and drama. Pupils for whom English is an additional language also receive support in the classroom.
