About Seaton House School
Seaton House School is a day preparatory school for girls aged four to eleven, with a co-educational nursery welcoming two- and three-year-olds. Founded in 1930, the school was later bought from the founder's family by parents in the early 1990s, and an educational trust was formed. Parents of current or past pupils make up the governing body, giving the school a warm, community-minded foundation. The school is set in a suburban neighbourhood, with its three sections — Nursery, Junior House and Senior House — occupying 1930s houses close to one another. The grounds include a playing field, two netball or tennis courts, and playground areas, providing plenty of space for pupils to learn and play. Seaton House has a broadly Christian ethos, whilst recognising and celebrating all major faiths and festivals. The school aims to provide a balanced and enriching learning environment, encouraging every pupil to reach her full potential and to develop good character, tolerance and mutual respect. Pupils come from local professional, trade and business families and from a range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and the school is attentive to the differing needs of its pupils, including those with special educational needs and those with particular talents in areas such as art, music and sport.
