About Sutton High School
Sutton High School is an independent day school for girls and a member of the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST). The Council of the GDST holds overall responsibility for the school, supported by a local governing board. The school opened in 1884 and is made up of two sections: the prep school, which includes the Early Years Foundation Stage, and the senior school, which includes the sixth form. The school's vision and ethos are shaped by the values of courage, truth and joy. It aims to inspire a love of learning and a sense of belonging, while encouraging pupils to take on challenges, develop their independence, and prepare for their future lives. Pupils come from a culturally diverse range of backgrounds and a wide geographical area. The school welcomes pupils with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as more able or with special talents in sport and music.
