About Saint Christina's School

Saint Christina's School is an independent Roman Catholic day school for girls aged 3 to 11 and boys aged 3 to 7, situated in west London. Founded in 1949 by the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the school belongs to a worldwide family founded by St Raphaela Mary in the late 19th century and sits within the diocese of Westminster. It is administered by a governing body that includes the Provincial of the Order as an ex officio member, alongside the superior, chair, and four foundation governors. The school aims to help children enjoy becoming independent learners while feeling safe and happy. It seeks to recognise each child's unique value and gifts, ensuring that every pupil feels appreciated for who they are and not solely for their achievements. Discrimination of any kind is considered unacceptable. The school draws pupils from the surrounding area of west London and welcomes children from a wide range of minority ethnic backgrounds. It supports pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, and provides specialist help for those who need it. A number of pupils speak English as an additional language, with support available from both specialist staff and classroom teachers. The school also offers a programme of challenging activities in mathematics and English for those identified as more able.
