About Rosemead Preparatory School

Rosemead Preparatory School and Nursery is a co-educational school welcoming pupils aged between 2 and 11 years. Founded in the 1930s, the school moved to its current site in 1974, and in 2005 acquired additional nearby premises to house the pre-prep department for children in the Early Years Foundation Stage and Years 1 and 2. Years 3 to 6 are based in the main school building. The school operates as a charitable trust under the direction of a board of governors, most of whom are parents of current pupils. The school aims to create an inclusive and nurturing community that prepares pupils for their next stages, seeking to meet the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of each child and to inspire a genuine thirst for learning through opportunities that extend beyond the curriculum. Pupils come from local professional and business families and from a range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, living within a 15-mile radius of the school. The school identifies and supports pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, ensuring they receive additional specialist help. The curriculum is also modified for the most able pupils and for those with special talents in sport and the creative arts.
