About Redmaids' High School GDST
Redmaids' High School is an independent day school for female pupils, situated on a green site in Westbury on Trym. The school traces its roots back to 1634 and was formed by a merger in 2016. It comprises a junior school, a senior school, and a sixth form, with each of the younger sections led by its own head, the two of whom work closely together. The school aims to ensure that every pupil feels empowered in achieving success, however she might define it. It fosters a culture of high aspirations and close collaboration, so that pupils feel able to aim high in their endeavours while knowing they will be well supported along the way. Most pupils come from professional families in the local area. The school supports pupils with a range of special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia, and also provides additional help for those for whom English is an additional language.
