About Papplewick School
Papplewick School is an independent day and boarding school for boys, founded in 1947 and now run as a charitable trust administered by a board of governors. Boarding is optional for pupils in the lower years and becomes compulsory from the summer term of Year 6. A new boarding house for Year 8 pupils has been built in recent years, and other boarding areas have been refurbished, with designated spaces created for learning support and English as an additional language. Pupils come from a range of professional and business families, mainly from the surrounding area, with others joining from London and overseas. The school has identified pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, a number of whom receive additional support, as well as pupils for whom English is an additional language. The most able pupils are provided with extension work and enrichment activities based on their identified interests and talents. The school aims to offer a broad all-round education, helping every pupil to achieve his potential by ensuring he feels secure, confident and happy. It seeks to provide the widest possible range of academic and extra-curricular experiences for all its pupils.
