About Norwich School
Norwich School is an independent co-educational day school for pupils aged 11 to 18, with deep roots stretching back to the eleventh century, when it was founded as part of the Benedictine priory connected to Norwich Cathedral. That historic link continues today, with the cathedral choristers educated at the school. The school is an educational charity, overseen by a Council of Management, and is closely connected to its sister school, Norwich Lower School. The school is organised into a Senior School for pupils aged 11 to 16 and a Sixth Form for those aged 16 to 18, with most pupils joining at 11, 13, or 16. Its ethos brings together learning and scholarship with Christian values, aiming to develop thoughtful, reflective young people who are well equipped for leadership and service. The school offers both academic depth and a broad co-curricular programme to nurture the diverse talents of all its pupils. Pupils come from a range of professional and business backgrounds, mostly from families living within 15 miles of the school. The school provides specialist support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as for those for whom English is an additional language. Provision is also tailored for the most able pupils and for those with particular talents in areas such as sport, music, and drama.
