About Northwood College for Girls

Northwood College for Girls is an independent day school for girls aged 3 to 18, located on a site the school has called home since 1892. Founded originally as Endsleigh House, the school became Northwood College for Girls following a merger in 2013. It is part of the Girls' Day School Trust and has its own local governing body. The school aims to empower each pupil with the knowledge, insight, and motivation to enter adulthood as a conscientious, ambitious, confident, and happy member of society — equipped to turn challenge into opportunity, embrace change, and maintain a lifelong love of learning. Most pupils live within the local borough. The school supports 105 pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, with almost all receiving additional specialist help. English is an additional language for 340 pupils, a number of whom receive extra support. The school also provides a modified curriculum and additional programme for its more able pupils.
