About More House School (London)

More House is a day school for female pupils aged 11 to 18, founded in 1952 by the Canonesses of St Augustine. Based in Knightsbridge since 1971, the school is grounded in the traditions of the Roman Catholic church whilst warmly welcoming pupils of all faiths or none. Governance rests with the trustees of the More House Trust, and since 2017 leadership has been shared between two co-heads. The school aims to create an environment in which every pupil is valued and supported, with their rights and dignity respected. It seeks to nurture commitment, integrity, humility and gentleness, and to develop the spiritual, academic and cultural potential of all its pupils, encouraging intellectual curiosity and sensitivity to the needs of others. The school community is diverse, reflecting the multicultural character of the capital, with most pupils coming from professional families in south west London. The school supports pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, and offers an extension programme aimed particularly at those identified as more able, though it is open to all.
