About Millfield Prep School

Millfield Preparatory School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school on the outskirts of Glastonbury. Founded in 1946, it is part of the Millfield Foundation, a charitable trust, which also oversees a senior school. Boarding is available from Year 3 to Year 8, with separate houses for male and female pupils situated on or close to the school site. The school aims to help every pupil discover their own unique talents and abilities through a broad, all-round education. It encourages pupils of all abilities to be kind, curious, challenging and brilliant, building firm foundations for their future lives. Day pupils come mainly from professional family backgrounds and live within a 20-mile radius of the school. Boarders join from across the country and internationally, from European, Asian, African and American countries. The school supports a wide range of needs, including pupils with special educational needs and disabilities such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, those for whom English is an additional language, and those with particular talents in areas such as sport, art, music and drama, with specialist teachers and coaches on hand to help each pupil thrive.
