About Meoncross School
Meoncross School is an independent co-educational day school welcoming pupils aged from two and a half to sixteen. Founded in 1953 and organised into three sections — infants (including Early Years), juniors and seniors — the school offers a broad and continuous educational journey from the earliest years through to GCSE level. Families come largely from within a ten-mile radius, bringing a range of professional and business backgrounds, and the school's pupil ability is broadly above average. At the heart of school life is a set of core values developed together with parents, staff and pupils, forming the basis of the school's character education programme, Values to Virtues. The school's mission centres on three main aims: academic excellence, character education and a global perspective. It hopes to inspire a lifelong love of learning whilst helping every child build the confidence, resilience and determination to reach their full potential. The school is also committed to supporting all its learners. Pupils identified as having special educational needs and/or disabilities receive additional specialist help, and the curriculum is thoughtfully adapted for the most able pupils as well as those with particular talents in areas such as sport, music, art and design, and performing arts. It is a community that genuinely seeks to prepare its young people to engage with, and contribute positively to, an ever-changing world.
