About Hulme Hall Grammar School
Hulme Hall Grammar School is a non-selective, co-educational independent day school situated in Davenport, on the edge of Stockport. Founded in 1928 as a boys' secondary school, it moved to its present site in 2017. The school offers a pre-school for children aged 2 to 4 and a senior school for pupils aged 11 to 16, and is run as a charitable trust administered by a board of governors. The school aims to instil values of hard work, honesty, tolerance, and respect, placing a strong emphasis on developing the whole person. It seeks to provide a holistic education in which pupils can grow academically, socially, morally, and spiritually within a caring and nurturing environment, helping them to become confident individuals with a healthy sense of self-esteem. Pupils come from a range of professional and business backgrounds and live within a 20-mile radius of the school, reflecting the ethnic and cultural diversity of the local area. The school supports 78 pupils identified as having special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dyspraxia, with 66 of those pupils receiving additional specialist help. Fifteen pupils hold an educational, health and care plan, and English is an additional language for 23 pupils, eight of whom receive further support.
