About Fairstead House

Fairstead House School is a co-educational day school in the heart of Newmarket, welcoming children from three months to eleven years of age. Founded in 1950, the school is organised into two sections: a nursery for children from three months to four years, and a main school for pupils aged four to eleven. It operates as a charitable trust, with every family a member, and is overseen by a board of governors. The school aims to provide an environment of enthusiasm, challenge, and encouragement, where pupils develop confidence and a genuine love of learning. It seeks to nurture each child's individual talents, support their emotional and social well-being, and foster skills in leadership and collaboration. Pupils come from a range of family backgrounds, with most living within a 30-minute radius of the school. The school supports pupils with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities, as well as those for whom English is an additional language, and provides additional activities and in-class support for its more able and talented pupils.
