About Epsom College
Epsom College is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 11 to 18. Founded in 1855 as the Royal Medical Benevolent College, it has a Christian foundation and is governed by a board of trustees appointed by the Council of the Royal Medical Foundation. Originally established to support orphans and widows of the medical profession, the school began admitting girls into the sixth form in 1976, with full co-education following some years later. The school is organised into 13 single-sex houses, some for day pupils, some for boarders, and one accommodating both day and boarding girls. It welcomes pupils from a wide range of backgrounds, with over 30 nationalities represented across the school community. Epsom College aims to provide a safe, supportive and inspiring environment where pupils can develop academically, socially, in sport, and in the arts. It seeks to challenge every pupil to grow in confidence, broaden their interests, and become considerate of others. Support is available for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as for those for whom English is an additional language, and the most able pupils are offered specific challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
