About Emanuel School

Emanuel School is an independent co-educational day school with a long and rich history, having been founded in 1594 before moving to its current home in Battersea, London, in 1883. Part of the United Westminster and Grey Coat Foundation, the school occupies a single site and welcomes pupils from the age of ten through to sixth form, with a lower school, middle school, and sixth form provision. The school's aim is to inspire endeavour, confidence, and ambition through a broad-based curriculum and a nurturing environment. It seeks to ensure that every pupil feels recognised, listened to, and understood, and that each young person finds friendship, develops lasting interests and passions, and grows into a happy, kind, and ambitious individual who values both spiritual and social understanding. Pupils come from a range of professional and business backgrounds, primarily from London and the surrounding counties. The school is attentive to the diverse needs of its community, offering additional support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as particularly able or as having special talents in areas such as music, drama, sport, and art.
