About Edge Grove Preparatory School

Edge Grove School is a co-educational day preparatory school situated 15 miles from central London in Aldenham, Hertfordshire. Founded in 1935 as a boys' preparatory school, it became co-educational in 1999. The school is organised into three sections: pre-prep for pupils aged 3 to 7, lower school prep for pupils aged 7 to 11, and upper school prep for pupils aged 11 to 13. It is a registered charitable trust, administered by a board of governors supported by sub-committees. The school aims to provide a warm, welcoming community where pupils from a broad diversity of backgrounds develop a genuine sense of belonging and pride. Through its academic, co-curricular and pastoral opportunities, pupils are encouraged to develop personal integrity, confidence and independence. Pupils come from families with a range of professional backgrounds and most live close to the school. The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, and those for whom English is an additional language. The most able pupils are stretched through the Ignite Fellowship programme and external competitions.
