About Derby High School
Derby High School is an independent, co-educational day school in Littleover, Derby. Founded in 1892, the school moved to its current site in 1958 and operates as a charitable trust overseen by a board of governors. It brings together a primary school and a senior school on a single site. The senior school welcomed male pupils from 2019 and became fully co-educational in September 2022. The school aims to provide a happy and stable environment rooted in Christian values, supporting the intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual development of every pupil. Its goal is to help young people grow into responsible, well-rounded, and confident adults, both through their academic studies and their wider pursuits. Pupils come from a range of professional and business backgrounds within a 25-mile radius of the school. The school supports pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as particularly able or talented, adapting and enhancing the curriculum to meet a variety of individual needs.
