About Cokethorpe School
Cokethorpe School is a co-educational independent day school set in a rural parkland in West Oxfordshire. Founded in 1957 as a boarding school for male pupils, the school became co-educational in 1991 and no longer offers boarding. It is overseen by a board of governors and brings together a prep school with an Early Years Foundation Stage setting, a senior school, and a sixth form, all located on the same site. The school aims to provide a liberal education that challenges every pupil to achieve their ambition. It seeks to strengthen pupils' sense of responsibility and to encourage them to develop courage, empathy, judgement, resilience, and integrity. Pupils come from a range of family backgrounds and mostly live within 20 miles of the school. The school provides additional specialist help for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and additional support for those for whom English is an additional language. The school also identifies more able pupils and aims to provide appropriately challenging educational and enrichment opportunities for them, as it does for all pupils.

Mobile Phone Policy
First form to fourth form pupils hand their phones in during morning registration. Phones are collected at the end of the day. Fifth and sixth formers may only use their phones in lessons, if directed to by their teacher, for educational purposes. They must not use their phones at other times. Prep school pupils may bring phones to school if they travel on a school bus, but they must deposit them in the morning and collect them at the end of the day. Concessions are in place for children with medical conditions whose access to their mobile phone is a necessity.
