About Abrar Academy
Abrar Academy is a Muslim faith day and boarding school for male pupils, founded in 2009 and part of the Al Badr Islamic Trust. Admission requires a commitment to Islamic faith education, and the school combines secular and Islamic study so that pupils can achieve their best in both areas. Pupils sit GCSE examinations in their final year. The school aims to provide an academic atmosphere that is spiritually enriching and physically nurturing, with a balanced and broadly based curriculum. It seeks to cultivate morality and to inspire pupils to become confident citizens and positive role models for their communities, with an understanding and appreciation of the diversity of values and beliefs found across the United Kingdom and beyond. Day pupils come from the local area, while boarders join from across the United Kingdom and from a number of other countries. The boarding facility is a short walk from the main school site. Pupils are not selected on the basis of academic ability, and the school welcomes pupils with a range of needs, including those who speak English as an additional language.
