About Wisbech Grammar School
Wisbech Grammar School is an independent day and boarding school situated in the centre of the town. Founded in 1379, it has a long history, and its preparatory school was established in 1997. The school welcomes children from the age of 3 right through to 19, with provision spanning early years, a prep school, a senior school, and a sixth form. Two boarding houses are also available for pupils from overseas. The school is owned by a single proprietor and governed by a group of directors, supported by an advisory committee. In recent years, the school has extended its early years facilities, created a new humanities hub, and expanded its sixth-form centre, reflecting an ongoing commitment to developing the learning environment. Most pupils come from within a 20-mile radius of the school, from a range of professional, entrepreneurial, and farming backgrounds. The school aims to offer a broad educational experience, helping every pupil identify their academic, creative, sporting, and personal strengths. Support is available for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, for those who speak English as an additional language, and for more able pupils through scholarship and enrichment activities. Staff, pupils, and families are encouraged to work together so that every child can achieve their own personal goals.
