About Wimbledon Common Preparatory School

Wimbledon Common Preparatory School is an independent pre-preparatory school for male pupils, situated in Wimbledon Village. Founded in 1919, the school was established as a preparatory school for King's College School and other independent schools, moving to its present site in 1957. Since 2006, it has formed part of the King's College School foundation and is run by their board of governors. The school aims to provide a safe, stimulating environment with a relevant and challenging curriculum that enables all pupils to feel secure, happy, and motivated to reach their potential. Pupils are encouraged to become independent learners and to develop into respectful and caring individuals, with a particular emphasis placed on close co-operation between home and school. Pupils come predominantly from professional families living within a 10-mile radius of the school. The school supports a range of individual needs, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, ensuring that additional help is available where needed.
