About Talbot Heath School
Talbot Heath is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 3 to 18, set on its current site since 1936. The school was founded in 1886 by Mary Broad, a pioneer of girls' education, and has grown from its origins as Bournemouth High School into the thriving community it is today. It is run as a charitable trust, governed by a board of governors, and is organised into three sections: pre-prep, junior, and senior. The school welcomes pupils from a range of backgrounds within a twenty-mile radius, as well as boarders from across the UK and overseas, including pupils who are part of the Tennis Academy. Boarding is available in a variety of arrangements, from full boarding to casual, offering flexibility for families. The curriculum can be adjusted for pupils performing at an elite level in sport, music, or drama. At the heart of everything Talbot Heath does is a commitment to integrity and character, reflected in its motto, Honour Before Honours. The school strives to nurture pupils who are confident, compassionate, principled, and willing both to express their views and to listen to others. It is a community that values kindness and consideration alongside a genuine love of learning.
