About St Martin's Preparatory School
St Martin's Preparatory School is an independent co-educational day school in Grimsby, founded in 1930. The school operates across two nearby sites in a residential area of the town, with the Pre-Prep located on a separate site close by. The school is owned by the Alpha Schools Holdings Limited Group, and the head, who took up post in September 2022, is responsible for both sites. The school welcomes pupils mainly from business and professional families in Grimsby and the surrounding areas. It supports a range of learners, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, with specialist and language support available where needed. More able pupils are catered for through a modified curriculum. At the heart of the school is a commitment to recognising every child's individual talents and supporting their emotional, spiritual, physical, and academic development within a caring environment. The school places great importance on building self-esteem, fostering consideration for others, and nurturing a spirit of friendship and co-operation between pupils, families, and the wider community.
