About St Francis School

St Francis School is an independent co-educational day school founded in 1941, which moved to its current large rural site in 1984. The school is a charitable trust overseen by a board of governors on behalf of the Hayfran Trust. It welcomes pupils from nursery through to secondary preparatory age, offering a broad educational journey within a family-friendly, inclusive ethos. The school aims to nurture every pupil within a safe, secure and happy environment. It strives to provide a breadth and depth of educational and co-curricular experiences, helping pupils to develop skills of collaboration, leadership, independence and kindness as they prepare for their future lives. Most pupils live within a twenty-mile radius of the school and come from a range of different backgrounds. The school supports 45 pupils identified as having special educational needs, 34 of whom receive additional specialist support, and addresses the needs of more able pupils through extension work and access to specialist coaches and facilities.
