About St Bernard's Preparatory School
St Bernard's Preparatory School is an independent co-educational day school founded in 1945 by the Bernadine Cistercian Order. It is now an independent subsidiary of St Benedict's Ealing, from which a majority of its governors are drawn. The school welcomes children from the age of 2½, with an Early Years Foundation Stage for the youngest pupils and a prep school for those aged 5 to 11. At the heart of the school is a commitment to the Catholic faith, with an aim to educate pupils towards love and service to God, one another, and the wider community. The school seeks to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that develops an understanding of each faith and the Gospel values shared by all faiths, supporting every pupil to reach their full potential spiritually, morally, academically, socially, and physically. Most pupils come from professional families living within a 10-mile radius of the school. The school identifies and supports pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as the most able, including pupils with particular talents in music and sport.
