About Royal Russell School
Royal Russell School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school founded in 1853, set within a parkland site in Croydon that has been its home since 1924. The school is a registered charity, overseen by the Russell School Trust, and welcomes pupils from Early Years right through to the senior school, with each section housed in its own building while sharing some facilities across the site. Boarding is available from the age of 11, with four boarding houses catering for both male and female pupils. The school community is wonderfully diverse, with boarders coming from 27 countries and day pupils drawn largely from local families, reflecting the rich social and cultural mix of the surrounding area. The school is committed to embracing this diversity and fostering a strong sense of inclusivity and international connection. Royal Russell aims to provide a thorough academic education while nurturing each pupil's intellectual and personal development. It seeks to support every young person in understanding their own ambitions and striving towards their own version of success. The school works hard to meet a wide range of learning needs, offering additional specialist support where needed, as well as an enrichment programme for its most able pupils.

Mobile Phone Policy
Pupils in years 7-11 must keep mobile electronic devices (phones and smartwatches) in lockers during the school day. Sixth formers may carry phones and use them in Drapers' Cafe only. Mobile phones should not be used in the library during study periods. Pupils are not required to have a smartphone. Strong recommendation for years 7-8 to have strict parental controls on social messaging apps.
