About Repton School
Repton School is an independent co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 13 to 18, set within its own grounds in the village of Repton. Founded in 1557 as a boys' school, it became co-educational in 1979 and today has ten boarding houses situated around the village, four for female pupils and six for male pupils. The school is governed by a board of governors and aims to foster self-confidence, community values, and lifelong friendships. It encourages pupils to embrace opportunity and challenge, helping them to develop the skills and experiences that inspire real achievement and a love of lifelong learning. Pupils come from a range of professional and business backgrounds, with around one in seven joining from overseas. The school supports a wide variety of needs within its community, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as the most able, who benefit from individual tutorials and extension opportunities. Pupils with particular talents in areas such as sport or music are also nurtured through dedicated programmes.
