About Reigate St Mary's School
Reigate St Mary's Preparatory and Choir School is an independent, co-educational day school founded in 1950 as the choir school for St Mary's Church in Reigate, a role it continues to fulfil today. In 2003, it became the preparatory school of Reigate Grammar School. The school welcomes children from the age of two through to eleven, with an Early Years Foundation Stage department for the youngest children and a junior department for those aged six to eleven. Both schools are run together as a single charitable trust, overseen by a board of governors. The school is committed to making every pupil feel happy and valued in a safe and supportive environment. It places a strong emphasis on pupils building meaningful relationships, developing social responsibility, and caring for one another, alongside providing a broad range of academic, sporting, and cultural opportunities that allow individual strengths and talents to shine. Most pupils come from families in the local area. The school supports children with a range of needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and those for whom English is an additional language, with additional help available where needed. In recent years, the school has expanded and improved its facilities, adding new classrooms for older pupils and refurbishing spaces for science, music, art, and the Early Years department.
