About Northbourne Park School

Northbourne Park School is an independent day and boarding school welcoming boys and girls from the age of 3 through to 13. Founded in 1936, the school is run as a charitable company, with its governing body serving as trustees. The school is divided into two sections: the pre-preparatory school, which is housed in the Old Rectory building, and the preparatory school. A distinctive feature of Northbourne Park is its two bilingual French classes, where French staff teach mathematics, French, history, and geography following the French national curriculum, with all other subjects taught in English. The school also has two boarding houses, one for boys and one for girls. Pupils come from a range of professional backgrounds, with most from British families. Day pupils live within easy reach of the school, while boarders join from London and from abroad, predominantly France. The school is committed to supporting every child, providing additional help for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, specialist English language support where needed, and academic extension programmes for the most able learners. Northbourne Park aims to give all pupils a broad range of academic, extra-curricular, and pastoral opportunities. The school places great importance on helping every child feel happy and supported, whilst encouraging initiative, leadership, personal confidence, and a strong sense of community.
