About Mayfield Preparatory School

Mayfield School is a co-educational independent day school situated in a residential area of Walsall. It has been established as an independent school in its own right since 1944, and is part of the Queen Mary's Schools Foundation, a registered charity that also includes a Grammar School for Boys and a High School for Girls. The school is overseen by its own board of governors, which includes trustees of the foundation. The school aims to provide a caring and consistent environment where pupils are encouraged to develop curiosity, confidence, and consideration for others. It seeks to offer a broad and balanced curriculum that supports academic achievement alongside pupils' social, moral, spiritual, and cultural development. Pupils at Mayfield come from a range of ethnic backgrounds and are of average to slightly above average ability. The school supports pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as those identified as more able, adapting the curriculum to meet a variety of learning needs. English as an additional language support is also available for pupils who need it.
