About Little Downsend Leatherhead
Little Downsend Leatherhead is an independent co-educational day school, part of the Downsend Schools family alongside Downsend School, Little Downsend Epsom and Little Downsend Ashtead. Administered by Cognita Schools Limited since 2006, the school welcomes children from the age of two through to Year 1, covering both Early Years (EYFS) and the first year of primary education. The school aims to inspire achievement, nurture each child's individuality and spark a genuine curiosity for learning that lasts a lifetime. It places importance on building resilience and character, encouraging pupils to develop an awareness of the world around them and to think of themselves as global citizens. Pupils come from a range of professional backgrounds and live locally. The school supports children with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, providing individual help, small group work and other tailored support where needed. The curriculum is also extended for the most able pupils, with opportunities for enrichment beyond the classroom.
