Langley Preparatory School at Taverham Hall came together in September 2016 through a merger of two Norfolk-based preparatory schools. It brings together the history of Taverham Hall School, which opened in 1921, and Langley Preparatory School, part of Langley School, founded in the 1850s. The school welcomes boys and girls as day pupils and boarders, from the age of two through to 13, with a pre-preparatory department for children up to age 7 and a prep department for those aged 7 to 13. The school has invested in a wide range of improvements to its facilities, including ICT provision, netball and tennis courts, a music, recording and composing suite, a Design and Technology block, a boarders common room and boarding house, an outdoor classroom, a science and wildlife pond, a nursery extension, and additional classrooms. The school's mission is to create a community of empowered learners within a family atmosphere of mutual trust and respect. It aims to motivate every pupil, whatever their ability, through personalised academic learning programmes and hands-on experiences in its woodland environment. Pupils come from a range of professional backgrounds, and the school provides additional specialist support for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as support for pupils with English as an additional language. The curriculum is also adapted for the most able pupils and for those with particular talents in sporting and musical disciplines.
