About Kent College International Study Centre

The International Study Centre (ISC) is a welcoming department within Kent College Senior School, a co-educational day and boarding school on the outskirts of Canterbury. Kent College itself was founded in 1885 and has been overseen by Methodist schools management since 1920. The ISC was established in 2003 with a clear purpose: to teach English as an additional language to overseas pupils joining the college. The centre offers bespoke timetabling for all its pupils and is part of the wider Kent College (Canterbury) family, which also includes a junior school, all governed by a shared board of governors. The ISC aims to help pupils grow in confidence with English so that they can integrate smoothly into mainstream lessons and activities, with the support they need to get the most from their time at the school. Pupils come from many parts of the world, bringing with them a rich variety of ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds. As their English develops, they move into senior school lessons alongside their peers. A number of ISC pupils also enjoy the full boarding experience, with five boarding houses available on the senior school site.
