About Kensington Prep School
Kensington Prep School is an independent day school for girls, governed by the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST), with a non-executive governing board that also maintains links with the local community. Founded in 1873, the school has been at its current location since 1997 and has recently added a new library facility to its provision. The school aims to nurture creative, curious, healthy and happy minds within a supportive environment, encouraging pupils to explore and investigate the world around them. It seeks to equip every girl with the knowledge, skills and self-confidence she needs for her next stage of education and for lifelong learning. Pupils come from a range of professional families with diverse cultural backgrounds, most living a short distance from the school. The curriculum is thoughtfully adapted to meet a variety of needs, including support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those with particular gifts or talents.
