About Kassim Darwish Grammar School for Boys

Kassim Darwish Grammar School for Boys is an independent day school for boys aged 11 to 16, founded in 1999 and based on its current site since 2000. The school is owned by Manchester Islamic Educational Trust Ltd., with trustees forming the governing body and an executive head overseeing day-to-day leadership. It operates two classes per year group from Year 7 to Year 11. The school aims to create a warm, caring, Islamic atmosphere in which pupils feel safe, healthy, and happy, while enjoying their learning and achieving their potential. It also seeks to prepare pupils to contribute meaningfully to both their school community and to British society more broadly. Most pupils come from minority ethnic British families living within a 20-mile radius of the school. The school supports a number of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as pupils for whom English is an additional language, with additional specialist help available for those who need it.
