About James Allen's Girls' School (JAGS)
James Allen's Girls' School is an independent day school for girls, welcoming pupils from the Early Years Foundation Stage all the way through to the sixth form. Founded in 1741, the school has been based on its 22-acre site in north Dulwich, in the London borough of Southwark, since 1886. The pre-prep, for girls aged 4 to 7, is situated a short distance from the main site in its own separate accommodation. The school draws its pupils from a wide range of ethnic and economic backgrounds across more than 20 London boroughs, reflecting the diversity of the city it calls home. The school community includes many families with international connections, all residing in the UK. The school supports pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, as well as those for whom English is an additional language. At the heart of the school is a commitment to celebrating diversity and inclusion, fostering social awareness, and nurturing each pupil's courage, creativity, and compassion. The school aims to inspire girls to become aspirational, lifelong learners who are kind, respectful, and ready to take on the world.
