About Godstowe School

Godstowe Preparatory School is a day and boarding school welcoming girls aged 3 to 13 and boys aged 3 to 7. Founded in 1900, it holds the distinction of being England's first all-girls prep school and has long maintained close ties with Wycombe Abbey School. The school is governed by a body known as Council, and pupils in Years 3 to 8 are taught in the main school building, while younger children in the Nursery and pre-prep are based in Lodge. The school aims to foster a happy and encouraging atmosphere in which pupils feel confident, enjoy learning together, and are well prepared for the next stage of their education. Day pupils come from a variety of professional backgrounds, most living within 20 miles of the school, while boarders join from a broad range of British and international backgrounds. All three boarding houses are located on the school site. Godstowe is committed to supporting the needs of all its pupils. Specialist help is available for those with special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, and dedicated teaching supports those for whom English is an additional language. The curriculum is also adapted for the most able pupils and for those with particular talents in areas such as sport, music, art, or drama.
