About Finton House School

Finton House School is an independent, co-educational day school situated in south London, in a residential area near Wandsworth Common. Founded in 1987, the school occupies two Victorian town houses that have been redeveloped over the years. For games, pupils make use of nearby sports fields, hard courts and swimming pools, and outdoor learning also takes place in the school grounds, on Wandsworth Common, at Trinity Fields and at a nearby small farm. The school aims to ensure that all pupils feel safe, happy and valued, and that everyone — including the most able and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities — is nurtured and challenged to make excellent personal and academic progress. It aspires to help pupils discover their own strengths and passions whilst learning how to live a healthy life and flourish in a rapidly changing world. Pupils are drawn from the local area and, on average, demonstrate above-average ability compared with pupils taking the same assessments nationally. The school supports pupils with a range of special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia, dyspraxia and speech and language difficulties, and modifies its curriculum for more able pupils as well as for those with special talents in sport.
