About Chinthurst School

Chinthurst School is a co-educational day school situated on the outskirts of Tadworth, Surrey. Founded in 1908 and run as a charitable trust by a board of governors, the school became part of the Reigate Grammar School group in 2017. It welcomes children from Nursery through to Year 6, with the younger children in Nursery to Year 2 based in a dedicated lower school building on site, and older pupils in Years 3 to 6 in the upper school. The school aims to help every pupil reach high academic standards through a challenging curriculum, enriched by opportunities in sport, drama and music. At its heart is a genuine desire to nurture a love of learning within a warm and supportive environment, where children feel confident to explore new experiences both inside and outside the classroom. Most pupils come from professional families living within a ten-mile radius of the school. The school supports children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia, autistic spectrum condition, attention deficit disorder and physical disabilities, and also provides additional help for pupils for whom English is an additional language. Where pupils are identified as more able, the curriculum is adapted to meet their needs too.
