About Carleton House Preparatory School
Carleton House Preparatory School is an independent co-educational day school founded in 1974, established by a group of parents to preserve the traditions and values of a Catholic education. It is run as a charitable trust overseen by a board of governors. The school welcomes children from Nursery age through to Year 6, organised into three sections: the Early Years Foundation Stage, lower school, and upper school. The school's mission, We love, live and learn with Jesus, reflects its aim to be an inclusive and welcoming family community rooted in Catholic values. It seeks to help every pupil fulfil their potential intellectually, morally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically, whilst inspiring a love of learning, fostering curiosity, and broadening cultural horizons. Most pupils live within a 10-mile radius of the school and come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, with approximately half from Roman Catholic families. The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as having particular talents in areas such as sport, drama, music, and art.
