About Bury Park Educational Institute (Al - Hikmah Secondary School)

Bury Park Educational Institute, also known as Al-Hikmah Secondary School, is an independent school for female pupils located in Luton. A separately registered school for male pupils, which forms part of the Institute, is situated a few miles away. The school registered as a school for female pupils in March 2020 and comprises one senior department. The chair of the trust, supported by a management committee, maintains an overview of the school. The school aims to establish excellence in both Islamic and academic spheres, helping all pupils to realise their potential and acquire knowledge, concepts and skills by building on previous experiences and success. It strives to promote Islamic attitudes where children learn respect for others, form positive self-images and care for their environment, so that they may become responsible members of the community. All pupils are Muslim, most living fairly near to the school, and they come from a range of diverse national backgrounds. The school's own assessment data indicates that pupils are of average ability. The school has identified nine pupils as requiring extra support, all of whom receive additional help.
