About Brockhurst and Marlston House Schools

Brockhurst and Marlston House Schools are co-educational and single-sex boarding and day preparatory schools for pupils aged three to thirteen. Boys and girls are educated together at Ridge House, the pre-prep, through the Early Years Foundation Stage and Year 1, before moving into Brockhurst (boys) and Marlston House (girls) respectively. In their final two years, pupils come together once more. Boarding is available on a full, weekly, or occasional basis from Year 5 onwards. Brockhurst has a long history, having been founded in Shropshire in 1884 and moving to its current site in 1946. Marlston House was established in 1995, and Ridge House joined the schools on the same site in 2005. The schools are run as a proprietorial organisation, with directors and a senior management team overseeing their leadership. The schools aim to provide a rounded education within a warm family ethos founded on Christian principles, where each child's individuality is welcomed and supported. Through a broad curriculum and a rich range of extra-curricular activities, they seek to nurture academic potential alongside qualities such as self-confidence, enthusiasm, resilience, and good manners. Pupils with special educational needs, those who are more able, and those who speak English as an additional language all receive tailored support as needed.
