About Belmont Grosvenor School

Belmont Grosvenor School is an independent co-educational preparatory day school welcoming pupils from 3 months to 11 years of age. Situated in the village of Birtswith outside Harrogate in North Yorkshire, the school is run as a charitable trust and managed by a board of Governors. The main school building dates from 1850, and the Magic Tree Nursery, which forms part of the Early Years Foundation Stage, is housed in the old stable block and is open all year round. The school aims to help pupils enjoy and respect learning, develop as effective communicators and independent critical thinkers, and grow into informed, responsible members of society. It encourages pupils to explore life creatively, build resourcefulness and self-confidence, and acquire strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and creative and physical activities. Outdoor learning has been woven throughout the curriculum for all age groups. Most pupils come from professional and business backgrounds, with families living within a ten-mile radius of the school. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, ensuring that every child is well catered for both in lessons and through extra-curricular activities.
