Beehive Preparatory School is an independent co-educational day school that has been established in its present house since 1926. The school is owned by a limited company whose three directors hold an equal share and are responsible for its governance. The school aims to prepare children for success in learning, work and life, including preparation for 11+ examinations and transfer to independent and maintained senior schools. It also seeks to nurture children to become confident, well-rounded individuals who will make a positive contribution to their communities. Pupils come from families with a range of professional and business backgrounds living within the locality. For most pupils, English is an additional language, and support is provided by class teachers. Class teachers also modify the curriculum for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as for those who are more able.
