About Abbey School

Abbey School is a co-educational nursery and day school, owned and led by its principal. The school is guided by a close-knit leadership team and aims to provide a stimulating, safe environment where pupils are nurtured and encouraged to think creatively and critically. Its goal is to equip children with the skills and self-confidence needed for lifelong learning, with staff offering individual support and guidance along the way. Most pupils come from the Torbay area and represent a broad range of abilities and needs. The school identifies pupils with special educational needs and disabilities and ensures that many of them receive additional specialist help. For those pupils for whom English is an additional language, extra support is offered as needed. The school also takes care to recognise its most able pupils and adapts the curriculum accordingly, so that every child has the opportunity to reach their potential.
